   Pepsi comes from greek pepsis (digestion), as Caleb Bradham the inventor claimed the drink helped against dyspepsia (indigestion). The trademark after PEP uptil 1998 was to signify the stock market abbreviation PEP for Pepsi's company PepsiCo.
