Lavis
Lavis (Lavìs in local dialect) is a comune (municipality) in Trentino in the northern Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 9 kilometres (6 miles) north of Trento. As of 31 December 2006, it had a population of 9.000 and an area of 12.4 square kilometres (4.8 sq mi).The municipality of Lavis contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Pressano, Sorni and Nave San Felice. Lavis borders the following municipalities: Giovo, San Michele all'Adige, Nave San Rocco, Zambana, Trento and Terlago.
