Ellet
Back in 1890, a Polish immigrant named Sam Elletinske came to Ohio and bought 12,000 acres in Northeast Ohio, now known as Akron. Ellet surveyed and developed his property into population establishments he named Ellet on the summit. In 1911, his son shortened his name to - Sammie Ellet, and began developing a community in the Southeastern part of the property,creating churches, schools, hospitals, police and fire protection, banks, and live stock liveries. This area is now the current area known as Ellet. Sammie Ellet had 12 children, some worked in the local businesses, two became mayors of Ellet, and one, the youngest changed his name to - Sam Elliot, and became a famous Actor.
