A capulin tree, scientifically known as Prunus serotina or Prunus salicifolia, is a species of tree native to Mexico and Central America. It belongs to the Rosaceae family, and is generally characterized by shiny, dark-green leaves, clusters of small white flowers, and dark purple to black fruit. The fruits are edible and consumed widely in its native regions. The capulin tree can grow up to 15 meters tall in optimum conditions.
