Birdie
"Sing, Little Birdie/310389" target="_blank">Birdie is the 1959 UK Eurovision entrant song that took second place at Eurovision 1959. Performed by husband-and-wife duo Pearl Carr & Teddy Johnson, "Sing, Little Birdie" was the first UK Eurovision entrant to be recorded reaching #12 in the UK charts. Pearl Carr & Teddy Johnson performed "Sing, Little Birdie" in the first semi-final of Eurovision Song Contest (ESC)/British Finals — the national preliminary round for the UK in Eurovision 1959 — on 2 March 1959. The duo also performed in the second semi-final of ESC/British Finals on 5 March 1959 with the song "That's It, That's Love", making Pearl Carr & Teddy Johnson the only act to ever perform two songs in the same multi-artist formatted UK Eurovision pre-selection round; the duo also being double-entered in the national preliminary round for the UK in Eurovision 1960. Polly Brown would perform two contending songs in the UK pre-selection round for Eurovision 1976 but as distinct acts: herself and as a member of Sweet Dreams.

Examples of BIRDIE in a Sentence
Today my tee shots found the rough more often. However, my second shots were pretty stable and able to par on to the greens, my golf today was pretty safe, stable condition. At the same time, when it comes to the chance for a birdie, my putting was pretty good.
I've played pretty well here so far. Hopefully I can have another good week here. The one thing I've always noticed, what changes for me, or what I am more aware of, is my attitude, i'm a little bit tougher and I'm a little bit easier on myself on this course. Because it's so hard, I know that if I can just hang around and keep making pars, maybe grab a birdie; if I just hang around the best I can, I feel like that's what you have to do.
Basically I forgot they changed the rule that ... if the ball moves while you're putter is down and it's not caused by you, basically caused by the wind, it's not a penalty, i went from making a pretty soft 5 to a really mad 6 to a felt-like-a-birdie 5 again.
I think the margins are very slim on quite a few of the shots, you can hit something that most other weeks would be a good birdie chances, it takes a hop and you're in the water scrambling for par or bogey. On certain holes, it's pushed a little bit. We know that's the case, so you come out here and try to make a game play accordingly and avoid problems as much as you can.
Im very happy with the way Ive been grinding around this golf course, ive missed a few opportunities to get up-and-down for birdie. Overall, I think Ive putted pretty solidly. Other than 17 today, I really havent done a whole lot wrong. I very easily could be up near that lead. Theres no way I would be leading, but I would be close enough to that lead given the weekend and the forecast.
