Glancy
Per a linguistics expert, I was given new info on the origin of my surname, when the expert said, "your name is Franked." According to this expert my surname was Franked hundreds of years ago by the French to escape the Viking billigers of Irish villages. The CLANCYS' were distinguished group known as Nobility or Dignitaries, or village leaders. The CLANCYS' were guarded and protected by the villagers as they were evacuated and relocated into France. Once in France, the French further gave these village leaders further protections by FRANKING their surname CLANCY to their new name FRANKED name of GLANCY. Here, I have only repeated what I was told several years ago. Roger Floyd Glancy 090322
