def jamnoun
Name of a major record label created by Russel Simmons and Rick Rubin: Def Jam Recordings. It might be hard to believe, but for a few years Def Jam Recordings had one of the most famous heavy metal bands of all time "Slayer" signed up to their label. Slayer is now on American Recordings, created by the same Rick Rubin that was co-founder of Def Jam Recordings. Public Enemy's Terminator X used a sample from Slayer's "Angel Of Death" track as the base for the P.E. track "She Watch Channel Zero?!".
