what a journey! really enjoyed the sour/sweet taste of this poem that expanded a simple metaphor into a journey of understanding and wisdom...
all the poetic games with words were also sweet...

the magic of the poem is in the opening stanza especially the first 2 lines: loving a person two or three times even before knowing her face or name! then the firework in the mind begins and the poet shows how this is possible... at the end you come to a new understanding of love... beautiful! more »

i've read it many times during my life... and found out we are at such fork many many times... in fact we live to choose...

and the secret message is hidden in these lines:

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
