Grand sacrificial ceremony held in ancient times by an emperor after ascending to the top of Mount to pay tribute to heaven and earth, announce his achievements, thank gods for having brought him and his people good fortune, and inscribe his achievements on a huge stone. He performed this ceremony to declare to the world that his power was bestowed by Heaven. In the year AD696, to commemorate this event--- "Ascend the top of Mount Songshan and held grand sacrificial ceremony ".WuZeTian changed the county's name to "DengFeng". The name "DengFeng", "Deng"is the pronunciation of Chinese word “登”，means "Ascend" "Feng" is the pronunciation of Chinese word “封” ,means "held the grand sacrificial ceremony" |
