The fourth definition of "adolescent" by the Chambers 20th Century Dictionary is incorrect. Adolescence occurs at the same period for both males and females. It is not different for each gender. Adolescence lasts from 13-19. People who are 20-25 are not adolescents. They are young adults/adults, though they can also be considered post-adolescents. more »
