| Izisebenzi | Izisebenzi, also known as 26s, Ama 26 or Izigqhomane is an organized crime organization based in KwaZulu-Natal. It was discovered in the late 18th century as a prison gang by a man from Durban called Grey. The gang is now regarded as one of the biggest in South Africa with thousands of members across the country. History states that the gang started when one of the oldest gang founders in KwaZulu-Natal that came from Northern KZN and Grey was the one who was from south of the province. The 26s only have one enemies which are the 28s and it has been the beef of the century as it has happened for years. It all started when Nongoloza who was the Zulu man from the north came to a jail called Durban Point Prison and tried to sleep with one of the Izisebenzi but their leader was quick to see before they did and a fight broke out. Ngeleketshane took the side of Izisebenzi before the 28s which developed an allies between the gangs over the years and is the reason why you would sometimes see members of Izisebenzi doing the 27s signs or the 27s doing the 26s signs in respect for each gang. Izisebenzi's gang signs put their thumbs up. The name Izisebenzi and Izigqhomane comes from the time when black people were used as labourer workers in the mines. The name Izisebenzi(isiZulu) means workers in English. The 26 simply describes the 5 men Grey had with him and him being the sixth they formed 6 and the 2 means the two men which are Grey and Ngeleketshane as Grey didn't see Nongoloza as a member of the Number's Gang leaders. In the early 19th century the number gangs were scattered across the city of eThekwini/Durban after the leaders were released from jail and they went far places like Gauteng after Nongoloza went to the province looking for a better life. | added 2 years ago |
| Woodstock Vultures | The Woodstock Vultures, also known as The Stocks or Dem Vultures are an organized street gang based in the township of Wentworth, south of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The gang has been active since the 1980s and is known as one of the most ruthless gangs in the area.
