    Psychogenic fugue, also known as dissociative fugue or fugue state, is a psychological disorder characterized by temporary, abrupt loss of personal identity and the unplanned and purposeful travel to, or wandering to, a new location. This condition often arises after a severe traumatic event and may last anywhere from a few hours to several months. During a fugue episode, the person may appear normal and might be capable of normal activities, such as working or driving. When the fugue is over, the individual has no memory of their identity or activities during the fugue.
