Homo rhodesiensis
Homo rhodesiensis is the species name proposed by Arthur Smith Woodward (1921) to classify Kabwe 1 (the "Kabwe skull" or "Broken Hill skull", also "Rhodesian Man"), a Middle Stone Age fossil recovered from a cave at Broken Hill, or Kabwe, Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia).. In 2020, the skull was dated to 324,000 to 274,000 years ago. Other similar older specimens also exist.Homo rhodesiensis s.s. appears to have diverged earlier than H. heidelbergensis s.s. (Mauer). H. rhodesiensis s.l. is now mostly considered a synonym of H. heidelbergensis s.l, or perhaps then slightly larger. Other designations such as Homo sapiens arcaicus and Homo sapiens rhodesiensis have also been proposed.

homo rhodesiensis
Homo Rhodesiensis, also known as Rhodesian Man, is an extinct hominin species within the Homo genus and is considered an African subspecies or precursor to Homo neanderthalensis (Neanderthal). These hominins lived approximately 300,000 to 125,000 years ago during the Middle to Late Pleistocene epoch. The defining fossil specimen of Homo Rhodesiensis was unearthed in Kabwe, Zambia and is often referred to as the 'Broken Hill Skull'. It exhibits large brow ridges and lacks a prominent chin, thereby sharing features with both Homo heidelbergensis and Homo neanderthalensis.

Homo rhodesiensis
Homo rhodesiensis is an extinct hominin species of the genus Homo, described from the fossil Kabwe skull. Other morphologically-comparable remains have been found from the same, or earlier, time period in southern Africa, East Africa and North Africa. These remains were dated between 300,000 and 125,000 years old. Homo rhodesiensis is now regarded by most scientists as another name for Homo heidelbergensis.
