Cape May Warbler
The Cape May Warbler is a species of New World warbler. It breeds in northern North America. Its breeding habitat spans across all but the westernmost parts of southern Canada, and into the Great Lakes region and New England. It is migratory, wintering in the West Indies. This species is a very rare vagrant to western Europe. The species is named after Cape May in New Jersey where Alexander Wilson collected the first type specimen. Ironically, another of this species was not verified in Cape May for another 100 years, although it is now known that the species is an uncommon migrant through the area.
