Triangulation is a risky game because if you get the language off, you may commit yourself in a campaign to a line that makes no sense when you are governing, this is one of the hardest problems for newcomers and challengers when they are campaigning for president. By giving applause lines that work for the narrow segments of ideologically hardened factions that they are trying to win over for the primary, they can lock themselves into policy positions that are not sound when they actually win.

This is too little too late from this Administration, which has made abundantly clear through its actions that it views actual parental input as an inconvenience; let’s remember, this is the same set of bureaucrats that coordinated for weeks with the National School Board Association on its since-retracted letter which cited the Patriot Act, the organizations hand-picked to participate do not speak for the views of most American parents; if they did, we would not have seen such a groundswell of activism over the past few years. Families came to the sobering realization that groups like the National PTA were as ideologically compromised as the elected officials that abandoned our children. I would have hoped the Biden Administration would realize the importance of bringing many perspectives to the table - but I am not surprised that other voices are not welcome.

Its a really tough environment for lawmaking, first, the parties are surely more ideologically polarized from each other than they were decades ago. Second, theres more sheer partisanship in town than before -- tit for tat, your team is for it, so my team is against it. Third, close electoral competition narrows the window for dealmaking -- each election offers each party a chance to hold or gain control. ... [ And, ] because the president is so unpopular nationally and with independents, theres limited pressure on Democrats to resolve problems.

Trump has every reason to believe Barr will use his new powers to aid the Presidents anti-deep state propaganda efforts, trump giving Barr unilateral authority over classification is just a huge deal in the world of Intelligence agencies. Barr will be able to override other agencies independent classification determinations. And the goal of all this here seems pretty clear. Its basically to give Sean Hannity material for his television show. So the plan, as it appears now, is essentially a kind of purge of the ideologically suspect members of the intelligence apparatus.

Bringing people into this country from that area of the world I think is a huge mistake, because why wouldn't they infiltrate them with people who are ideologically opposed to us? It would be foolish for them not to do that. So, we need to be very compassionate to understand that these people have been displaced and we should use our expertise and resources to help get them resettle over there, and to support them over there, but to bring them here under these circumstances is a suspension of intellect.
