If you were to go through my fridge, you would find lots of greens, vegetables, a lot of nut milks, cheese, avocados, fresh meat, salmon and tea – I love tea, there’s vinegar, Dijon mustard, olives, eggs, spices, lots of spicy sauces. You would also find pre-made quinoa. It’s about being organized and prepared. On Sundays, I ’ll make soups and grain bowl supplies. That way we can have everything individually packed for the family so they can pick and choose. They can make a homemade grain bowl. For example, we ’ll put greens in there, some chopped-up avocados, mushrooms, olives, sprouts, and vegetables – things already prepared and on hand. It makes it easy for my family and it encourages them to get creative in the kitchen.

I have to tell you it's been Baltimore that's been chopped at and bitten at in 1990 and 2000 and 2010 and here we go now in 2020. So the city can't give anymore. It's got to have some sort of unification where communities have a semblance of having things in common and having the same sort of goals and aspirations, the counterargument is if you've got three people representing the city that the city is stronger. The argument to that is if you've got three people doing that, they're also representing other areas at the same time.

After 2019, there was this boom of popularity and interest in the sport. And then it got really chopped at the knees because all of a sudden there was no sport, no significant women’s football on TV to really maintain that momentum, obviously that has a very direct and real impact on the players but it also has an impact on an industry that’s still trying to emerge, still trying to grow, still trying to develop. And obviously you need to have the sport visible in order for that growth to happen and that momentum to stay in place.

A kind of second childhood falls on so many men. They trade their violence for the promise of a small increase of lifespan, in effect, the head of the house becomes the youngest child. And I have searched myself for this possibility with a kind of horror. For I have always lived violently, drunk hugely, eaten too much or not at all, slept around the clock or missed two nights of sleeping, worked too hard and too long in glory, or slobbed for a time in utter laziness. I’ve lifted, pulled, chopped, climbed, made love with joy and taken my hangovers as a consequence, not as a punishment. I did not want to surrender fierceness for a small gain in yardage.
