SquiZZ
SquiZZ was an XM Satellite Radio channel devoted to hard modern rock from the 1990s and 2000s. It was launched on November 14, 2002 as part of a playlist split from The Bone Yard, its sister channel. After this, The Bone Yard would become the home for classic hard rock, whereas Squizz became home for newer hard rock. It was located at XM channel 48, and was deginated "xL", meaning that it included explicit language. Squizz was more similar to traditional radio stations in comparison to most other XM channels as the DJs were more involved. They participated more and try to interact with their listeners. The DJs even had their own MySpace accounts and so did the channel. As of 2006, Squizz adjusted its musical format from hard alternative, pop-punk, post-hardcore and metal to a more generalized playlist of modern rock. On September 7, 2006, Bodhi was named Program Director of SquiZZ. The channel was scrapped as a part of the Sirius XM Merger on November 12, 2008. It was replaced by Sirius's similar channel, Octane. As a result, Sirius XM began taking on Squizz's playlist for the new Octane, while the channel's callsign continues as S020-FM by Mediabase.
