Wikipedia

  1. sounds

In physics, sound is a vibration that propagates as an acoustic wave, through a transmission medium such as a gas, liquid or solid. In human physiology and psychology, sound is the reception of such waves and their perception by the brain. Only acoustic waves that have frequencies lying between about 20 Hz and 20 kHz, the audio frequency range, elicit an auditory percept in humans. In air at atmospheric pressure, these represent sound waves with wavelengths of 17 meters (56 ft) to 1.7 centimeters (0.67 in). Sound waves above 20 kHz are known as ultrasound and are not audible to humans. Sound waves below 20 Hz are known as infrasound. Different animal species have varying hearing ranges.

Sounds refer to vibrations or disturbances that are transmitted through a medium, typically air or water, and can be perceived by the human ear. These vibrations travel in waves that consist of changes in pressure, which our ears detect and interpret as sound. 1. Sounds

Sounds was a long-term British music paper, published weekly from 10 October 1970 – 6 April 1991. It was produced by Spotlight Publications, which was set up by Jack Hutton and Peter Wilkinson, who left Melody Maker to start their own company. Sounds was their first project, a weekly paper devoted to progressive rock and described by Hutton, to those he was attempting to recruit from his former publication, as "a leftwing Melody Maker". Sounds was intended to be a weekly rival to titles such as Melody Maker and New Musical Express. It was well known initially for giving away posters in the centre of the paper and later for covering heavy metal and Oi! music in its late 1970s-early 1980s heyday. Sounds was the first music paper in its coverage of punk and in the late eighties was maintaining its reputation for getting there first, when John Robb covered the Manchester music scene and came up with the term 'Britpop' whilst writing for Sounds. The paper's editors realized the importance of its regional audience and had freelancers across the UK contributing gig reviews and articles about up and coming local bands.

When you hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years?! That sounds like a choice. Like, you were there for 400 years and it’s all of you all? Like, we’re mentally in prison. Like, slavery goes too direct to the idea of blacks, so prison is something that unites us as one race, blacks and whites being one race. We’re the human race.

  2. Derek Carr:

Doing things the right way, it sounds easy, but it’s not easy to do, and so I’m trying my best. And again, maybe sometime in the offseason I’ll have time to think about all this. I will tell you I walked by, and I saw Henry’s locker today and for whatever reason that got me. Like he’s not going to be there. Not because he’s fast, not because of what he can do for me, but because of the person that he is and because I love him, i mean he literally texted me at midnight of a golf swing, me and Hunter (Renfrow), ‘How’s my swing look? You guys need to help me.’ Just seeing that and then getting the news when we woke up. How am I supposed to handle that? How am I supposed to react? And I’m trying my best and doing my best, but I do know that God is good and I’m going to believe that he can change situations and do things we just can’t comprehend sometimes, and I’m going to continue to believe that and my kids will believe that and we’ll keep preaching that even when people don’t like it.

  3. This President:

We're looking at that and that has to be approved by the White House. We may or may not approve it, that sounds like a political move.

  4. Kathy Guillermo:

It sounds like it, doesn't it? I mean, it's an experiment that an eighth-grade science student could figure out is totally meaningless, but no, unfortunately, we did not.

  5. Chip Reid:

It just feels very tightly controlled, this sounds like a very tightly controlled audience and a list of questions. Why do it that way? Why not open it up to the public?
