  1. rh antibody

Hemolytic disease of the newborn, also known as hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn, HDN, HDFN, or erythroblastosis foetalis, is an alloimmune condition that develops in a fetus at or around birth, when the IgG molecules (one of the five main types of antibodies) produced by the mother pass through the placenta. Among these antibodies are some which attack antigens on the red blood cells in the fetal circulation, breaking down and destroying the cells. The fetus can develop reticulocytosis and anemia. The intensity of this fetal disease ranges from mild to very severe, and fetal death from heart failure (hydrops fetalis) can occur. When the disease is moderate or severe, many erythroblasts (immature red blood cells) are present in the fetal blood, earning these forms of the disease the name erythroblastosis fetalis (British English: erythroblastosis foetalis). HDFN represents a breach of immune privilege for the fetus or some other form of impairment of the immune tolerance in pregnancy. Various types of HDFN are classified by which alloantigen provokes the response. The types include ABO, anti-RhD, anti-RhE, anti-Rhc, anti-Rhe, anti-RhC, multiantigen combinations, and anti-Kell. Although global prevalence studies of the differential contribution of those types are lacking, regional population studies have shown the anti-RhD type to be the most common cause of HDFN, followed by anti-RhE, anti-RhC, and anti-Rhc.

  1. rh antibody

A Rh antibody is a type of protein produced by the immune system in response to Rh antigens present on red blood cells that the system identifies as foreign. This generally happens in Rh-negative individuals when they are exposed to Rh-positive blood, such as through blood transfusion or pregnancy. The antibodies can potentially cause hemolytic disease in Rh-positive fetuses or newborns.

To date, we have deployed over 2,000 personnel, including 1,300 clinical providers; surged over 3,200 ventilators, ambulances and other critical supplies; and shipped over 2.3 million courses of lifesaving monoclonal antibody treatment.

  2. Mike McFarland:

Feline OA pain is typically undertreated because of a lack of effective solutions that are safe to use long-term, along with how difficult it can be for cat owners to administer oral medicines2, the approval of Solensia is a significant step forward in the control of feline OA pain. Cat owners and veterinarians alike can feel confident that Solensia, with active substance frunevetmab, a monoclonal antibody (mAb) designed specifically for felines, has been studied and demonstrated to control OA pain and help cats get back to moving more freely again.

  3. Brett Giroir:

There is a very consolidated effort between the The FDA, CDC, NIH to validate some of the [ antibody ] tests that are on the market right now... And we have reason to believe that not all of them are going to perform well, we're going to be very careful to make sure that when we tell you you're likely immune from the disease... that test really said that.

  4. Van Kerkhove:

There's been more than 24 million cases reported to date. And we need to look at something like this on a population level. And so it's very important that we document this -- and that, in countries that can do this, if sequencing can be done, that would be very, very helpful. But we need to not jump to any conclusions, even if this is the first documented case of reinfection, it is possible of course because with our experience with other human coronaviruses, and the MERS coronavirus and the SARS-CoV-1 coronavirus, we know that people have an antibody response for some time but it may wane.

  5. Bill Hartman:

As the virus evolves and we get these different variant forms out there, it will prey on people who don't have a built-in antibody response like you can get with a vaccine, so these kids are the ones who will suffer the brunt of that, it's important to not only keep them safe, because even in this age group, it's a top 10 reason kids have died in the last two years. Kids aren't supposed to die.
