    Bill Reque
    My surname, Reque comes from the name of our estate in Voss, Norway. It's name, and ours as residents, was Rekve when my ancestors immigrated to the USA, changing the spelling on arrival.
    The Norse law regarding surnames then was "Gardnavn" ..Estate Name".
