Wikipedia

  1. mantiger

The manticore or mantichore (Latin: mantichōra; reconstructed Old Persian: merthykhuwar; Modern Persian: مردخوار mardykhor) is a Persian legendary creature similar to the Egyptian sphinx that proliferated in western European medieval art as well. It has the head of a human, the body of a lion and a tail of venomous spines similar to porcupine quills, while other depictions have it with the tail of a scorpion. There are some accounts that the spines can be shot like arrows, thus making the manticore a lethal predator.

  1. mantiger

A mantiger is generally referred to in two contexts: 1. In mythology, a mantiger often refers to a mythical creature or entity that is part human, part tiger. This hybrid creature features in several world mythologies and folklore stories. 2. It could be a term used in role-playing games or fantasy novels to describe a creature that is a part of a tiger and a part of a man — somewhat like a werewolf is a wolf-man. However, the term mantiger isn't widely recognized or used outside of these contexts, so its definition could change depending upon the mythology, or the fantasy game or novel it's used in.
