Grapeword is an Atlanta-based deals and rewards platform that empowers local businesses to take charge of their mobile and social marketing campaigns. With Grapeword, merchants control their own deals, and they are not put into contracts. They are free to run whatever promotions are best for their business which may be a 50% across-the-board discount or it may be a Wednesday night BOGO special on a particular menu item. From a consumer standpoint, Grapeword provides mobile deals but does so without daily emails. Deals are discovered through friends via social network or found through the iOS and Android apps for deals on demand. The platform is based on word of mouth and has a heavy social component since merchants are encouraged to offer a reasonable baseline deal with a strong bonus if the consumer is willing to share the deal on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest. By incentivizing people to share with a reward related to the very thing they’re sharing, the posts remain genuine and effective rather than being perceived as spammy.
