The state of boiling; reciprocation of rise and fall; agitation; commotion.
Etymology: from æstuo, Latin.
Rivers and lakes, that want fermenting parts at the bottom, are not excited unto estuations; therefore some seas flow higher than others. Thomas Browne, Vulgar Errours, b. vii. c. 13.
