eight tray gangster crips
The Crips is an alliance of street gangs that is based in the coastal regions of Southern California. Founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1969, mainly by Raymond Washington and Stanley Williams, the Crips were initially a single alliance between two autonomous gangs; it is now a loosely-connected network of individual "sets", often engaged in open warfare with one another. Traditionally, since around 1973, its members have worn blue clothing. The Crips are one of the largest and most violent associations of street gangs in the United States. With an estimated 30,000 to 35,000 members in 2008, the gangs' members have been involved in murders, robberies and drug dealing, among other crimes. They have a long and bitter rivalry with the Bloods. Some self-identified Crips have been convicted of federal racketeering.

eight tray gangster crips
The West Side (W/S) 83 Gangster Crips (pronounced Eight-tray) are one of Los Angeles's most well known African-American Crip gangs. The creation of this gang has been attributed to a guy named OG Sidewinder, who is regarded as the main founder who created this neighborhood which was a split of Stanley "Tookie" Williams’ West Side Crips. Their territory extends from Florence Avenue (north) to 89th Street (south) between Vermont (east) to Van Ness Avenue (west). Their territory also extends on the westside to Van Ness Avenue between 79th Street (north) and Manchester (south). ETG's were strongly involved in the 1992 Los Angeles riots and one-time member Kody Scott (aka Sanyika Shakur) wrote a popular autobiography entitled An Autobiography of an L.A. Gang Member while he was in prison during the 1980s. The 8-Trays are rivals of all Neighbor Hood Crip and Rollin 0's gangs, especially the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips. The ongoing feud between the Eight-Trays and Rollin' 60s has been a bloody one, causing more Crip on Crip killing than with the rival Bloods. It has become a rivalry between Neighbor Hood Crips and Gangster Crips, which extends the conflict from the two gangs into a regional one. It is a deep rooted rivalry which has been going steady for over thirty years. At one time, the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips and the Eight Tray Gangster Crips were close allies and often fought rival gangs together. However, by the early 1980s, they were engaged in all out warfare. In September 1979 a 15-year-old member of the Eight Tray Gangster Crips got into a fight with a teenaged member of the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips over a girl who had been dating both young men. In a subsequent fistfight between the two teenagers, a new recruit to the Eight Trays, eager to make a name for himself, pulled a gun and shot the Rollin 60s member to death. The older brother of the 60s member who was killed, also a member of the Rollin 60's himself, demanded that the Eight Trays hand over the new recruit to be punished in order to prevent a war between the two gangs. The Eight-Trays were unable to find the new recruit (who was actually from an area now controlled by the Rollin 90s Neighborhood Crips) for he had already turned himself in to the police. The Rollin 60's, feeling that the "Trays" weren't being honest, murdered a member of the Eight Trays in retaliation. Although a meeting was called by the leaders of both gangs in an attempt to end the fight, tensions were so high between them that the meeting erupted into a gang rumble, after which the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips and the Eight Tray Gangster Crips engaged in a gang war that still exists to this day. This rivalry is responsible for being the first Crip on Crip rivalry in history. The feud has spilled over into surrounding neighborhoods, forcing other gangs to chose sides in the conflict. Gangs who aligned themselves with the Eight Tray Gangster Crips adapted the “Gangster Crips” or Tray(3x) card while those who aligned themselves with the Rollin 60’s adopted the "Neighbor Hood Crips" or Deuce(2x) card. The Eight-Trays are bitter rivals of all gangs who fall under the Neighbor Hood Crips card and all Rollin 0’s gangs such as the Rollin 30s Harlem Crips, Rollin 40s Neighborhood Crips, Rollin 50s Neighborhood Crips, Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips, the 46 Neighbor Hood Crips, 48 Neighbor Hood Crips, the West Boulevard Crips, 67 Neighbor Hood Crips, Rollin 90s Neighborhood Crips, Rollin 100s Crips, 118 Neighbor Hood Crips, all Hard Time Hustler Crips, all Menlo Crips and the Osage Legend Crips. Other Crip rivals include the Main Street Mafia Crips, 99 Mafia Crips, the Blue Gate Mafia Crips, the Hat Gang Watts Crips and the Geer Gang Crips. Due to their intense rivalry with Neighbor Hood Crips, the Eight Trays rarely feud with Blood gangs. However, they have been bitter rivals of the Inglewood Family Gang to the west of their territory since the 1970s due to the fact that the IFG were responsible for the first ETG casualty. Another Blood rival would be the LA Denver Lane Bloods; who bolsters a membership similar to the Eight Trays. Additionally to their Blood rivalries, the Eight-Trays are hostile towards any Sureños gang showing hostilities toward African Americans. The 83 Gangster Crips are also rivals of the 87 Gangster Crips, 97 Gangster Crips and the 98 Gangster Crips due to their alliance with deuce(2x) gangs. Although the 8-Trays used to be friendly towards most Hoover Criminals, they now rival the 74 Hoover Criminals Gang, 83 Hoover Criminals Gang, the 92 Hoover Criminals Gang and the 94 Hoover Criminals Gang. The Far West Side 8-Tray faction used to rival the Inglewood Family Gang and the 99 Mafia Crips, but are currently involved in an unofficial ceasefire to take on both the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips and the Rollin 90s Neighborhood Crips; an alliance which is not generally accepted by members from the other 8-Tray factions. Due to their shared hatred for Neighbor Hood Crips, the Nutty North Side 8-Tray faction are friendly towards the 54 Van Ness Gangster Brims and the Harvard Park Brims (specifically the 62 Brims). Other allies include the Avalon Gangster Crips, Broadway Gangster Crips, 51 Trouble Gangster Crips, Gardena Shotgun Crips, Gardena Paybacc Crips, School Yard Crips, Kitchen Crips, Altadena Blocc Crips, Du Roc Crips, 71 Gangster Crips, 73 Gangster Crips and the rest of the Trays.
