duck sauce
Duck sauce is a sweet and tangy condiment often used in Asian cuisine, particularly in American-Chinese cooking. It is usually orange or peach in color and is often served with dishes like egg rolls, spring rolls, or dim sum. The sauce is typically made from a combination of ingredients like sugar, plum, apricots, ginger, garlic, soybeans, vinegar, chili peppers and other seasonings. Despite its name, it does not traditionally contain duck. The name comes from Westerners who used the sauce as an accompaniment to duck dishes.
