Consolidated Energy
Consolidated Energy, Inc., through its subsidiary, engages in the identification, production, mining, and marketing of Appalachian coal to electric utilities in the United States. It sells coal through the spot market and through long-term supply contracts. The company operates in the Central/Southern Appalachia region, which includes coalfields in eastern Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, southwestern Virginia, and central and southern West Virginia. Consolidated Energy, through Eastern Consolidated Oil and Gas, Inc., also engages in oil and gas exploration and development, and has interests in one producing gas well located in Morgan County, Kentucky. In addition, it develops, implements, and distributes a clean-coal technology that provides an environmentally friendly form of coal, which can be employed in utility, industrial, and commercial markets in the United States and internationally. The company was incorporated in 1996 under the name Barbeque Capital Corp. and changed its name to Consolidated Energy, Inc. in 2002. Consolidated Energy is headquartered in Betsy Layne, Kentucky.
