    Banna is a 4th class municipality in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. According to the latest census, it has a population of 18,161 people in 3,420 households. The word Banna was taken from the native chieftain named Bana. The town is formerly known as Espiritu, Ilocos Norte. The name changed under Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 120-95 on March 20, 1995; ratified on March 10, 1996.
