Anchal is one of the fastest developing town located in the centre of Kollam district in Kerala, India.

Anchal is a very fast developing town in the east central part of Kollam district of Kerala, India. It is the second fastest developing town in Kerala after Chalakudi. The name Anchal means the land of five proverbs. What characterizes this town is its quick pace of development. Advantages of being located strategically between NH-208 and the MC road has helped Anchal to emerge as a hub of development in Kollam Dist. Anchal is an educational centre in the district having many educational institutions such as the St.John's College, St. John's Central School, Sabarigiri School, Govt. HSS East, Govt HSS West, St. George Central School etc. with high quality standards and more productivity. Another significant advantage of Anchal is development on health & medicine. There are more than four multi-speciality hospitals at Anchal including a sister concern of KIMS hospital for mother and child.
