Altana
Altana AG (styled as ALTANA) is a German chemical company headquartered in Wesel. It was created in 1977 through the spin-off of divisions of the Varta Group. The first CEO was Herbert Quandt. The group comprises the divisions BYK (coating additives and instruments), Eckart (metal effect pigments and metallic printing inks), Elantas (insulation materials for the electrical and electronics industries) and Actega (coatings and sealant compounds for the packaging industry). The Altana Group has 48 production facilities and 65 service and research laboratories worldwide. In 2021, the company, with more than 6,700 employees, posted revenues of around €2.7 billion.

The ALTANA Group, with headquarters in Wesel/Germany, sells 84% of its products overseas. The first chairman was Herbert Quandt. The Altana Group has four divisions: BYK Additives & Instruments, ECKART Effect Pigments, ELANTAS Electrical Insulation, and ACTEGA Coatings & Sealants. At present, the ALTANA Group has 42 production facilities and more than 50 service and research laboratories worldwide. Throughout the Group around 5,360 people work to ensure the success of ALTANA worldwide. In 2012, ALTANA achieved sales of about 1.7 billion euros.
