Luxury is a continuation of his previous work in Shibuya-kei, though in some tracks there are indications of a shift towards house music and 1970s Philly soul, a path he would explore more in his next album, beautiful. The track "There Must Be an Angel", is a cover version of a Eurythmics song. Vocals on the Luxury version are performed by Lorraine Bowen. Her vocals also appear on the track "Bossa for Jackie".
