If they’re just hearing one side — that women’s rights are being withheld in some way by pro-lifers — they’re going to want to do what’s most empathetic, but if they’re getting the perspective that a baby also has human rights, and that no woman has the right to kill her child — this viewpoint can be very compelling.

The nearest-term issuesThings may not have been blown up on Monday, but there are still very real issues that need to be resolved -- and quickly. There are intensive negotiations to find a compromise on prescription drugs -- something left out of Biden's framework -- that can make its way into the package. This is a huge issue for House Democrats, who know it polls extremely well and has also been a long-standing commitment for the party. But the opposition of a handful of House House Democrats and Sinema have limited the scope and scale of the initial ambitions.Still, for a few days it appeared it would be scrapped altogether. Then House Democrats launched frenzied behind-the-scenes negotiations to try and thread the needle. Those are still ongoing.Democratic leaders also have to address immigration, which a handful of House Democrats have also said must be addressed to secure House Democrats votes. Senate rules have limited -- if not outright killed -- most ambitions on this front. But leaders know they need some kind of resolution here. And finally, Manchin's full-throated view that Senator Manchin needs to see scores in order to vote on any final proposal isn't exclusive to him. There are a group of moderate House House Democrats who share that view and have communicated it with leadership, according to two sources.Given how quickly Democratic leaders want to move, that stance makes things more complicated.Remember : House Speaker Nancy Pelosi can only afford to lose three House Democrats. There is virtually no margin for error and a number of real issues to resolve -- and fast. Another under-appreciated outstanding issueProgressives may now be willing to move forward without explicit assurances from centrist senators, but moderate Democrats have been clear for weeks they don't want to vote on anything that will then be changed in the Senate. With Senator Manchin making clear there's still a long way to go with Senator Manchin, this is an issue that needs to be reconciled.About the Senator Manchin remarksCNN reported that Senator Manchin had been frustrated that House Democrats were trying to get Senator Manchin to make a clear endorsement of the $ 1.75 trillion framework -- and Senator Manchin wanted to make clear where Senator Manchin stood as Senator Manchin was getting lobbied to back adding more social programs to the plan, according to a source familiar with Senator Manchin thinking. Senator Manchin also had grown angry that progressives thought they had leverage over Senator Manchin to back the $ 1.75 trillion social safety net expansion plan if they withheld their support for the $ 1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, the source said. Senator Manchin, the source said, also didn't like last-minute changes being made to the social safety net proposal. In short, Senator Manchin didn't want to get jammed into supporting something Senator Manchin was far from ready to endorse. The White House viewAbout 20 minutes after Senator Manchin concluded Senator Manchin remarks, White House press secretary Jen Psaki released this statement :.

It’s a sickening irony that he’s doing this by dangling millions of federally provided funds for COVID-19 relief and forcing school districts to choose between the health and safety of kids and educators, or millions in additional funding that Republicans have withheld for years, with the delta variant running rampant and COVID-19 cases among children on the rise, it’s disgusting to put a bounty on spreading this illness to kids and punishing schools that try to operate safely.

Last month, in a bid to prevent informing the American people and its elected representatives about Russian efforts to help President President Trump and hurt Joe Biden, the Trump Administration announced that it would cease briefing Congress in person, and rely on written products alone. But if written products are being altered for political reasons, or worse withheld entirely, how can the American people trust that this Administration will inform voters on how foreign powers are trying to influence them, or where the threats really come from, and protect National Security — particularly when it contradicts the President's preferred narrative or personal political interests ? In short, they can't, and that's dangerous.

There is something fundamentally immoral to presenting a narrative that people build their entire lives upon. They decide what to do with their education, how much money to give, who to marry, when to marry, how many kids to have, what professions to pursue… There’s this massive amount of decisions that you make, you know in a finite life, and to base that life on a narrative, when not only the narrative isn’t what it claims to be, when leaders know the narrative isn’t what it claims to be, and intentionally - for as long as they could - withheld the information that would allow people to make an informed decision about how they spend their finite time and resources –that’s profoundly immoral.

We didn't bring it up. The essence of the factual charge on the Ukraine was that The President tried to use the state power — The President withheld military aid that had been voted by Congress to the Ukraine — in order to get the Ukrainian government to announce a bogus investigation of the Bidens because Hunter Biden were The President political opponents, it was just another distraction, it was another distortion.

The facts are clear ; security aid was withheld from Ukraine in an attempt to benefit the President's political campaign, while White House attorneys claim this behavior is not serious, it is dangerous to the fundamental principles of American democracy to use the power of the federal government for personal or political gain.

Its getting late, i would ask you, respectfully, if we could simply start, maybe tomorrow we can start -- and they can make their argument, and they can, I guess, make a case that they once called overwhelming. Well see... Seriously, can we please start ? OOPS ? Joe Biden TEAM TOUTS UKRAINE ACTIVIST WHO CALLED HUNTER BIDENS ACTIONS VERY BAD As Democrats amendments were summarily shot down, reports emerged that some Democrats were privately considering something of a compromise : calling for the testimony of Hunter Biden in exchange for the appearance of some key administration officials. Bidenobtained a lucrative board role with a Ukrainian company while Joe Biden father, Joe Biden, was overseeing Ukrainian policy as vice president. President Trump had asked in President Trump now-infamous July 25 call with Ukraines president for a look into Joe Bidens admitted pressure campaignto have Ukraines top prosecutor fired. Senate Republicans have sought to portray Trumps push for a probe as a legitimate request given the Bidens dealings in Ukraine, while Democrats have alleged that senior administration officials would testify that the administration withheld military aid to Ukraine in order to secure a politically motivated probe. Mike Mulvaney, for example, has publicly argued that there is nothing wrong with tying financial assistance to anti-corruption efforts and other U.S. objectives, even as the administration has denied specifically targeting the Bidens for political purposes. Meanwhile, the barrage of amendments Tuesday night put into doubt whether the senators would have time to meet in a closed session toconverse -- which would be a valuable opportunity, given that the senators were legally barred from having any sustenanceother than water or milk at their desk all day, and could not communicate verbally with one another during the proceedings. The restriction on cellphone possession and oral interaction led some members to pass and flash written notes to each other like students in a classroom, as White House impeachment managers and the presidents legal team traded lengthy legalistic arguments. At one point during the proceedings, former Bill Clinton press secretary and CNN political analyst Joe Lockhart wrote on Cruzs Twitter that Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz could go to.

These redactions at least raise eyebrows. The categories that the Freedom of Information Act allows the government to withhold are sufficiently vague that it's hard to say whether these redactions were actually in violation of that law, but does it appear suspicious given the damning nature of what was withheld, and the current government's obvious motivation for withholding it.
