If we get Latinos to perform as we want them to but we lose ground in the suburbs, we lose, but there’s no amount of votes we can pick up in the suburbs that makes up for a drop off in Latino voters. We need it to be terrific in order to win.

The state has a prior relationship with the hotel being used in the suburbs, and their staff has done amazing work welcoming refugees and asylum seekers before, so it is interesting that local officials are choosing this specific instance to gripe to the press about this specific group of asylum seekers that consists of about 30 families. Gov. Pritzker has made it clear that Illinois is [a] welcoming state, and xenophobia has no home here.

So much for Chicago’s ‘Welcoming City Ordinance.’ These Democrat elites are absolute hypocrites, and now their hypocrisy is on full display for the entire nation. Governor Pritzker and Mayor Lightfoot have been complaining about a few hundred migrants being bused into self-declared sanctuary city Chicago, then turn around and dump them in the suburbs for Republican mayors to deal with. Instead of complaining about fulfilling their ‘welcoming city’ promises, these Democrat hypocrites should call on President Biden to do his job and secure the border—something the President continues failing to do.

The border situation on the southern border is a totally different situation than Afghan refugees. It’s total arrogance for the state to assume they can send migrants to the suburbs around Chicago.

We’re more than happy for people to find freedom, it is hypocrisy by the mayor of Chicago to complain about the governor of Texas – I do agree with what he’s doing – the city of Chicago says it’s going to be a sanctuary city which I oppose – but there must be vacant hotel rooms in Chicago. This is hundreds of people in a city of millions. Why are they sending them out to the Republican suburbs? You have to wonder.

It's so important because this is our land, our neighborhoods look like they look because there is no one there to teach them home preservation. If you go to the suburbs, there are subdivisions, there are homeownership associations that keep their areas together. And when we go through our neighborhoods, we see 20 houses on the block abandoned. The ones that are still there probably are close to being abandoned, just because they have no way of keeping the preservation of their homes up. So I think homeownership is key.

According to the government, there were three corridors and three convoys of busses went to pick them up.

Anything that changes the subject is good news. It's been a rough stretch for him. It is a chance for him both to fulfill a promise and do something that unifies his caucus and gives him a win, this is a propitious time to be talking about Supreme Court. If the current court does as we expect and guts Roe vs. Wade in the spring, this could be a motivating factor for voters on the Democratic side, particularly women, particularly in the suburbs, which will be important. And having a stellar nominee who impresses joining the bench after June could be part of that mix.

Obviously, I think every inch of ground is important, i'll go to anyone to get their vote, but to the extent that Virginia and New Jersey showed we were starting to lose the support of independents and Republicans in the suburbs, that's where we have problems at the statewide level.

Glenn Youngkin worshipped at the altar of Donald Trump … Glenn Youngkin did not really put much distance between Glenn Youngkin and Donald Trump on the big lie or the deadly insurrection, so, I think that the real ominous thing, is that critical race theory, which is n’t real, turned the suburbs 15 points to the Trump-insurrection-endorsed Republican.

They're doing to the suburbs now what they used to do to Austin or big cities. That tells you where Texas Republicans are -- that Texas Republicans really need to use the rural areas to neutralize the suburbs, in a lot of ways, it's a replay of the battles that have been going on for the last couple of decades, since Texas Republicans gained control of redistricting. The one variant is White voters in the suburbs.
