Faithful: What! why he (Shame) objected against religion itself; he said it was a pitiful, low, sneaking business for a man to mind religion; he said that a tender conscious was an unmanly thing; and that for a man to watch over his words and ways, so as to tie himself up from that hectoring liberty that the brave spirits of the times accustom themselves unto, would make him the ridicule of the times.”

He was trying to say, ‘See, Democrats, you're not going to like 50 votes,' i challenged him and asked unanimous consent that we have 50 votes on those 18 plus the voting rights Act, the Freedom to Vote Act, and the John Lewis Act. And of course, he objected. So we're not afraid of 50 votes. We want 50 votes. And McConnell's gotcha activity didn't quite work.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Capitol Hill Saturday. The current draft legislation, rolled out by the Senate GOP andobtained by Fox News on Thursday, would provide payments of up to $ 1,200 per person. They would be phased down at adjusted gross income thresholds of $ 75,000 for individuals and $ 150,000 per couple. Additionally, there would be $ 500 payments for each child. The amount, though, is slated to then be reduced by $ 5 for each $ 100 a taxpayers income exceeds the legislations threshold. The amount is reduced to zero for single taxpayers with incomes exceeding $ 99,000 and $ 198,000 for joint filers. The legislation also outlined $ 300 billion for small businesses to keep furloughed and laid-off workers on the payroll and $ 208 billion in loans to airlines and other industries. Some Republicans have objected to certain measures outlined in the bill, and most Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, have sounded the alarm saying the measure does not go far enough in protecting American families, and is too focused on corporations. Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., introduced an amendment to McConnells plan on Saturday, which aimed to expand relief forlow-income and middle-income Americans.Hawleys plan lowers the threshold for Americans to qualify for the $ 1,200 relief. In order to qualify, under Josh Hawley amendment, an individual must be a U.S. citizen with a Social Security number. Under McConnells plan, an individual must file taxes and have an income greater than $ 0 in order to qualify, which Josh Hawley says leaves behind Americans who are disabled, or living in public housing that dont file taxes due to not having any true income of their own. During this emergency our focus should be on helping every American who needs it, including especially our most vulnerable citizens, excluding or penalizing families with lower incomes doesnt make sense. Congress should prioritize lower-income and middle-class families through this crisis. Meanwhile, White House Legislative Affairs Director Eric Ueland declined to share specific details Capitol Hill Saturday on whether all GOP senators were on board with the ongoing discussions over the stimulus package.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., supports the legislation and had hoped to pass it last Thursday, but Mitch McConnell was forced to delay consideration past the expiration date after Mike Lee, R-Utah, and two other senators Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and Ron Wyden said they would object. The House legislation, negotiated by White House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Republican leader Kevin McCarthy, would renew several provisions the FBI sees as vital to fighting terrorism but also aim to ensure stricter oversight of how the bureau conducts surveillance. PAUL : MY FISA AMENDMENT WILL KEEP Mike Lee had proposed a deal on the Senate floor Thursday extension of the current authorities if the Senate would consider several amendments to the White House bill that would further limit them. Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr, speaking on the floor for Mitch McConnell, objected to that deal, saying the Senate should instead pass the House bill. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., has pushed for FISA reforms. ( AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite) Were not a rubberstamp for the House of Representatives, were certainly not a rubber stamp for the Deep State.

Lawmakers from theForeign Affairs, Intelligence and Oversight committees moved forward with testimony from their first key witness Thursday --- former U.S. envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker, who resigned last week after receiving word his name had surfaced in the whistleblower complaint. Text messages released by Kurt Volker to Congress show U.S. officials involved with Ukraine arguing internally last month over whether Trump was engaged in a quid pro quo. Fox News on Friday also obtained Kurt Volker prepared testimony, in whichhe details Kurt Volker interactions with Rudy Giuliani lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who was probing whether Burisma had sought to garner influence with Joe Biden by paying high fees to Joe Biden son. A memorandum of the July 25 call between Rudy Giuliani and Zelensky released last month showed that while Rudy Giuliani sought a Ukrainian probe into the Joe Biden family, Rudy Giuliani did not explicitly use the $ 400 million in military aid as leverage. He also said they are still considering restrictive language in the appropriations bill and what that means for current projects. He added that money, which he called a down-payment, will be funding construction and repair in areas including San Diego, Calexico, and Santa Theresa, New Mexico. He said that the Calexico project started last week. President Trump objected to the $ 1.3 trillion omnibus bill due to the lack of funding for border security, and has been looking into the possibility of getting the military to fund the approximately $ 25 billion project. Conservatives noted that the bill limited the approximately 100 miles of new construction and repairs to already approved models -- not the prototypes President Trump recently viewed in California. While Vitiello noted that a lot of the 100 miles was replacement, he said it was new construction and that some parts are moving from old, often dilapidated fencing to 30-foot steel bollard designs. He said that, for instance, in El Paso a three-foot vehicle barrier was being replaced by 18 or 30 foot wall. On what needs to be done, Vitiello said that that the entire wall project would cover approximately 1,000 miles with various wall structures, he believed $ 25 billion in funding would adequately fund that project. He said that from the testing of the prototypes, a new design standard was being formulated that would be used going forward. Currently, approximately 654 miles of the border are covered by some form of fencing or barrier. Vitiello's remarks come a day after President Trump touted the early stages of construction at a speech in Richfield, Ohio. We started our wall — what a thing of beauty.
