It is wholly repugnant to once again read reports, and see videos on social media, about dozens of neo-Nazis making another brazen public display with their hateful ideology, although all people of goodwill and decency are both angered and extremely disturbed by the increased activity we continue to witness from neo-Nazis and white supremacist groups locally, we can no longer say that we're surprised with what we continue to see across the country, unfortunately.

The idea that natural purity translates into racial or national purity, that was one that was very central to the Nazis’ environmental discourse. 'Unspoiled’ forest goes hand in hand with racial purity or something like that. The Nazis saw themselves as environmentalists.

The value of objective journalism and the value of being able to be here on the ground and tell the truth while the other side is doing everything humanly, and inhumanly, possible to twist facts and spread disinformation … creating this alternative reality that doesn’t exist. Based on that alternative reality, this is the reason why most of the Russian soldiers are here, they are all convinced that here that Ukraine is full of Nazis and their duty is to come and liberate these Russian-speaking people from Nazis.

Clients are being called Nazis, people are wishing that they are dead. These are human beings. These are hockey players. These are guys contributing to our society, paying millions of dollars in taxes to support the U.S. and Canada and doing all kinds of charity work back home. Stop looking at them as aggressors. Stop being racist.

I mean, look, he's calling Ukrainians neo-Nazis and drug dealers, and all this propaganda stuff we all know isn’t true. And I think deep down, a mass of his population, they know it's not true, it highlights for us, here in America, why Ukraine is on the front line … They are the geopolitical fault line right now between democracy and authoritarianism and a hallmark of authoritarianism is to control the narrative, control what people hear and see and then distort the truth.

Well, Whoopi, there’s no question that the Holocaust was about race. That’s how the Nazis saw it as they perpetrated the systematic annihilation of the Jewish people across continents, across countries with deliberate and ruthless cruelty, you see, Hitler’s ideology, the Third Reich, was predicated on the idea that the Aryans, the Germans, were a ‘master race,’ and the Jews were a subhuman race. It was racialized antisemitism.

I'm trying to go to the store, to Target, and I'm coming back home, and I'm being berated by Nazis, my grandfather was a survivor. Other members of my family were survivors of the Holocaust and migrated to the U.S. after. It's very sad to see people like this can be so ignorant and can have so much hatred built up in their hearts.

If you voted for Trump, you voted for the person who the Klan supported. You voted for the person who Nazis support, you voted for the person who incited a crowd to go into the Capitol and potentially take the lives of lawmakers ... You voted on that side, and the people in Washington are continuing to vote on that side.

For Whoopi Goldberg to say it's not about race. It’s about religion, it's extremely disappointing, whoopi Goldberg should be very careful. Whoopi Goldberg should educate Whoopi Goldberg on this subject before Whoopi Goldberg speaks because Whoopi Goldberg words carry a lot of weight. I do n’t think Whoopi Goldberg’s an anti-Semite but Whoopi Goldberg’s not educated on this and I do n’t believe Whoopi Goldberg knows what the Nazis wanted to do to us because of our race.

[Americans] come back to always having that hope, no matter how difficult it is since the birth of our nation. Whether it was the Civil War, World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, an assassination decade of the '60s, or 9/11, we always had hope and we had presidents who inspired us, americans do not cower, whether it's the Nazis or the terrorists or the China virus. We have hope. We have strength. And when you have hope and strength, you have peace. But this president doesn't know what hope is.

An American Jew is only used to perceiving anti-Semitism as Nazis in Charlottesville carrying tiki torches, or a swastika being spray-painted onto a synagogue wall, or the Christian right saying that Jews killed Jesus Christ. We're not very attuned to and good at recognizing anti-Semitism when it doesn't come from that extreme side of the political spectrum, but we are going to have to get used to it, because that's what's coming here. It's already here.
