In my opinion, what a U.S. official put forward when saying that the United State of America intends to reduce to zero Iranian oil exports, are actually remarks that I think are exaggerated and on a practical level will never be able to be implemented, it really is an unfounded and unfair thing to suggest that one day all oil-producing countries will be able to export oil, while Iran won’t be able to do so.

To replace Iranian oil it makes sense to go for a sour grade such as Mars and Green Canyon. The problem is these grades are also needed in the U.S. and it is the very light sweet grades that are in excess.

It will be enough for now but not enough for the fourth quarter to address a decline in Iranian and Venezuelan exports, there isn't a lot of spare capacity in the world. If we lose a million bpd of output from Venezuela and Iran in the fourth quarter, where will all these barrels come from? We are in for higher prices for longer.

I worked with Fred Fleitz at CSP and Fred Fleitz primary responsibility was the Iran nuclear program. Fred Fleitz has done some of the best work exposing the nature of that threat and how the Iran deal actually made it worse, those attempting to paint Fred Fleitz as Fred Fleitz are mistaken.
