Usually, where the facts are relatively simple, one would expect things to move very quickly. They've got the witnesses of the airport experts, they've got the physical evidence, they've got the lab report, that shouldn't take a lot of time. But then appeals can take all sorts of time.

It’s the defense’s last chance of getting the conviction thrown out now that they’ve exhausted all appeals and collateral attacks based on the facts, they’ve already succeeded on getting the death penalty overturned, so a new trial would be a huge setback for Laci, Conner, and justice for their murders.

Because the Court of Appeals concluded that President Trump's claims would have failed even if President Trump were President Trump, President Trump status as a former President necessarily made no difference to the court's decision, tonight's ruling is a major setback for former President Trump in President Trump efforts to block the National Archives from turning over documents to the January 6 Committee.

Thanks to the Court of Criminal Appeals’ Stephens v. State decision, Texans will now have to rely on Democrat local officials in blue strongholds to enforce election integrity, we know that will never happen. Not only is the court wrong on the law – in fact, I recently filed a motion for rehearing – but its decision makes it much more likely for the left to steal Texas elections through illegal means.

It shows me the jury didn't just sweep the table and say all guilty, or all not guilty, and when this case is on appeal... as a prosecutor, you want to be able to say to the Court of Appeals look, the jury was really careful here, they were really selective about what they did.

They're going to file their appeals, criminal defendants always do, but it was a pretty clean case in my book, what you want as a criminal defense attorney, especially when you're representing a defendant who is arguably less culpable, and Bryan was arguably less culpable, is to sever him or her from the other defendants, because it's arguably prejudicial to be tried with Travis McMichael, who pulled the trigger, or Gregory, who said, ‘I’m going to blow your f------ head off,'.

Military training, throughout history, has required discipline.  Socrates believed that self-control could become the very foundation of moral wisdom if only we could learn how to apply it to overcoming violent passions, such as anger and hatred.   Stoicism appeals to military men and women precisely because it was inspired by ancient military values.  It’s especially relevant today because of its potential to reach many individuals who do not otherwise seek therapy or read self-help literature.  It also holds out the promise of a more lasting, perhaps even lifelong, personal transformation.

What we have found is, you know, in the trial courts in Tallahassee, state and federal, we typically lose if there is a political component to it. But then in the appeals court, we almost always win, and so I don't think( the judge) is going to lift the stay... but if it is lifted I am confident that that will be reinstated at the 11th Circuit.
