Wikipedia

  1. x-radiation

An X-ray, or, much less commonly, X-radiation, is a penetrating form of high-energy electromagnetic radiation. Most X-rays have a wavelength ranging from 10 picometers to 10 nanometers, corresponding to frequencies in the range 30 petahertz to 30 exahertz (3×1016 Hz to 3×1019 Hz) and energies in the range 145 eV to 124 keV. X-ray wavelengths are shorter than those of UV rays and typically longer than those of gamma rays. In many languages, X-radiation is referred to as Röntgen radiation, after the German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, who discovered it on November 8, 1895. He named it X-radiation to signify an unknown type of radiation. Spellings of X-ray(s) in English include the variants x-ray(s), xray(s), and X ray(s). The most familiar use of X-rays is checking for fractures (broken bones), but X-rays are also used in other ways. For example, chest X-rays can spot pneumonia. Mammograms use X-rays to look for breast cancer.

  1. x-radiation

X-radiation, also known as X-rays, is a form of electromagnetic radiation that has a specific range in the electromagnetic spectrum, with wavelengths ranging from about 10 picometers to 10 nanometers. X-rays have a higher energy level than ultraviolet rays but less than gamma rays. They are commonly used in various fields such as medicine for diagnostic imaging, as well as in industries like material testing and aerospace due to their ability to penetrate matter and produce images of inner structures. X-radiation is also capable of ionizing gases, causing damage to living cells and potentially leading to cancer.

Examples of x-radiation in a Sentence

  1. Andrew Schurer:

The eruption injected a huge amount of sulphur dioxide into the stratosphere, which would have quickly spread across the world, oxidising to form sulphate aerosols, these volcanic aerosols reduce net shortwave radiation causing widespread, long lasting surface cooling. They also lead to a reduction in global rainfall, while wettening some dry regions and causing dynamic changes in the large-scale circulation of both ocean and atmosphere.

  2. Steven Keating:

The patient has the least access to the data, but has to make the most medical decisions. It was my decision to do surgery or radiation or chemo, what type of chemo, it’s all in the patient’s hands. Usually they just follow what the doctor says, but they don’t have that same access to the data that the doctors do, patients don’t have access to their data legally, they only have access to their designated record, and if it’s not included in there they don’t see it.

  3. Richard Lustberg:

While I may be rooting for the Patriots at the Super Bowl, it's not going to end my life, it's not chemotherapy or radiation, so really, it's not going to have any effect on our life. ... If we are just talking about your regular, everyday kind of effect on my life : none !

  4. Adam Friedman:

Most are pretty efficient at blocking UV radiation, if you are using a mask, I'm a big fan of mineral sunscreens and stick sunscreens... the stick adheres to skin a little bit better and doesn't get as runny as liquid.

  5. Angela Kiszko:

I read all the things he’d have to go through, all the side effects – I literally just wanted to vomit and I thought I could not put myself through it. Why could I put my son through it? i don’t want my son’s brain fried with radiation.
