Whoopi Goldberg
Caryn Elaine Johnson (born November 13, 1955), known professionally as Whoopi Goldberg, is an American actress, comedian, author, and television hostess. She has been nominated for 13 Emmy Awards and is one of the few entertainers to have won an Emmy Award, a Grammy Award, an Academy Award, and a Tony Award. She is the second black woman to win an Academy Award for acting. Goldberg's breakthrough role was Celie, a mistreated woman in the Deep South, in the period drama film The Color Purple (1985), for which she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress and won her first Golden Globe Award. For her role in the romantic fantasy film Ghost (1990) as Oda Mae Brown, an eccentric psychic, Goldberg won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and a second Golden Globe, her first for Best Supporting Actress. In 1992, Goldberg starred in the comedy Sister Act, earning a third Golden Globe nomination, her first for Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical. She reprised the role in Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit (1993), making her the highest-paid actress at the time. Her other film roles include Made in America (1993), The Lion King (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), Ghosts of Mississippi (1996), How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998), Girl, Interrupted (1999), For Colored Girls (2010), and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014). In television, Goldberg is known for her role as Guinan on Star Trek: The Next Generation; since 2007, she has been the moderator of the talk show The View. In February 2019, Goldberg revealed that she asked BBC bosses to hire her as the first female Doctor in Doctor Who years ago, but they did not offer her the role.

Examples of whoopi goldberg in a Sentence
I have re-watched countless, countless Tony Award shows and I am no James Corden, I am certainly no Neil Patrick Harris or Hugh Jackman for that matter. And I am no Whoopi Goldberg, but I have been inspired by all of them, i'm excited about it because it's a playground for me. I have never done this so I get to just sort of experiment and the good thing is that I love these people and I don't mind falling on my face and looking like a little bit of an idiot for people I love. So here we go !
First of all … there is no f --- ing thing as karma, OK ? Get over that, whoopi attacks me on a regular basis, Whoopi Goldberg says stupid s --- on a regular basis, it just so happened to coincide.
It provides cover for two different [areas]. It provides cover for Whoopi Goldberg because she made those statements and she was passionate about them, it also provides cover for the greater good of the show and for the greater good of ABC— for them to orchestrate this— it was a really great strategy. It worked out well because as the story gets progressively worse, you don’t want to be seen as somebody defending someone, especially when they’ve admitted on public record for doing something so horrific [as purchasing drugs to give to women.].
Whoopi Goldberg -- who said know what, look I’ve been called all kinds of things, Whoopi … I’ve been called a bimbo from the time I was a secretary to the time I was a CEO. I think we need to be able to have civil conversations in this country about our differences … so I'd just like to have a conversation about where we agree and where we disagree.
I also enjoy fighting with Panelist Whoopi Goldberg and she enjoys fighting with me, so, I just want everyone to stop being so precious about our relationship because it's almost 2020 and women can debate on TV in a spirited way without it being personal, and I know this is a big shock, but we get along backstage.
