water deer
Water deer is a species of deer native to China and Korea. These animals are named for their preference for living in areas with access to bodies of water such as swamps, marshes, and river banks. They are known for their long, down-curved tusks and lack of antlers, often giving them the nickname "vampire deer." They are relatively small in size and have a reddish-brown coat. Scientifically, they are known as Hydropotes inermis.

Water deer
The water deer, also known as the vampire deer, is a small deer superficially more similar to a musk deer than a true deer. Despite its lack of antlers and certain other anatomical anomalies—including a pair of prominent tusks, it is classified as a cervid. Its unique anatomical characteristics have caused it to be classified in its own genus. Native to China and Korea, there are two subspecies: the Chinese water deer and the Korean water deer.
