trazodone hydrochloride
Trazodone Hydrochloride is a synthetic triazolopyridine derivative, antidepressant and sedative that is used in the treatment of depression and insomnia. It acts to inhibit the reuptake of serotonin by the brain, resulting in an increase of serotonin levels, which typically helps to improve mood and reduce anxiety and insomnia associated with depression. Its sedative effect is due not to its antidepressant properties, but to its antihistaminic effect at the H1 receptor site.
