Time-sharing is a concept in computing where multiple tasks, also known as processes, are performed during the same period of time. They are executed concurrently in one single CPU, hence sharing the system’s resources such as memory and peripheral devices. This method allows multiple users to interact with a computer system simultaneously by dividing the processing time of the computer system between the users. Essentially, it attempts to increase the utilization and efficiency of computing resources by having them constantly in use. It's often utilized in mainframe and server environments.
