Wikipedia

  1. Time After Time

Time After Time is the second single by American singer-songwriter Cyndi Lauper from her debut studio album, She's So Unusual (1983), with Rob Hyman (co-writer and founding member of the rock band The Hooters) contributing backing vocals. The track was produced by Rick Chertoff and released as a single on January 27, 1984. The song became Lauper's first number 1 hit in the U. S. The song was written in the album's final stages, after "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", "She Bop" and "All Through the Night" had been written. The writing began with the title, which Lauper had seen in TV Guide magazine, referring to the science fiction film Time After Time (1979)."Time After Time" is composed of simple keyboard-synth chords, bright, jangly guitars, clock-ticking percussion, and elastic bassline. Lyrically, it is a love song of devotion. Music critics gave the song positive reviews, with many commending the song for being a solid and memorable love song. The song has been selected as one of the Best Love Songs of All Time by many media outlets, including Rolling Stone, Nerve, MTV and many others. "Time After Time" was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Song of the Year at the 1985 edition. The song was a success on the charts, becoming her first number-one single on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart on June 9, 1984, and remaining there for two weeks. The song reached number three on the UK Singles Chart and number six on the ARIA Singles Chart.

Examples of time after time in a Sentence

  1. Eric Holder:

Texas Republicans have proven time after time that Texas Republicans don't want to risk fair elections. Texas Republicans know Texas Republicans are out of touch with the majority in the Lone Star State, and instead of adjusting Texas Republicans policies and politics for Texas Republicans constituents, Texas Republicans're trying to manipulate the structures of our democracy to artificially hold onto power, congress must do its part and pass the Freedom to Vote Act to put power back in the hands of the citizens of Texas and the American people -- where it belongs.

  2. Bernie Sanders:

I think anyone who looks at the vice president's record understands that time after time after time, Joe has talked about the need to cut Social Security, that's in the congressional record. He has said that many, many times. I don't think that's disputable.

  3. Bernie Sanders himself:

I think anyone who looks at the vice president's record understands that time after time after time, Vice President Biden has talked about the need to cut Social Security, that's in the congressional record. He has said that many, many times. I don't think that's disputable.

  4. Saul Loeb/Pool via AP -RRB-:

For some reason, the country seems to be retreating and moving away from what I call a pursuit of perfection, a more perfect union. That is what we’re about. We’re not a perfect country, but we always should stay in pursuit of perfection, that is happening all over in the schools in the courts in the legislature, time after time. Votes come up, and not a single Republican will vote for it or a single Democrat will vote for it. That to me is not what this country is about.

  5. Albert Einstein:

The ideals which have lighted my way, and time after time have given me new courage to face life cheerfully, have been Kindness, Beauty, and Truth. The trite subjects of human efforts, possessions, outward success, luxury have always seemed to me contemptible.
