skunkbush
Skunkbush, also known as skunkbush sumac or Rhus trilobata, is a deciduous shrub native to the western parts of North America. It typically grows up to 6 feet tall and has trifoliate (three-parted) leaves that turn reddish in fall. Its common name comes from the strong odor released when the leaves are crushed. It bears small yellow flowers and reddish, hairy fruits. This plant is often used for erosion control and as an ornamental in landscapes.
