"Shocked" received mostly positive reviews from most critics, as, although they had highlighted the song from the album, they also highlighted the song through Minogue's career, praising its catchiness. Commercially, the song received modest success, peaking in the top ten in both her native Australia and the United Kingdom, An accompanying music video was featured for the single, where it was shot in Paris, France. The song features Minogue entering a mansion-type home, where she is seduced by a mysterious man in the manson.
