    In Christian tradition, the seven heavenly virtues combine the four cardinal virtues of prudence, justice, temperance, and fortitude with the three theological virtues of faith, hope, and charity. The seven capital virtues, also known as contrary or remedial virtues, are those opposite the seven deadly sins. They are often enumerated as chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness, and humility.

    In the Catholic catechism, the Seven Catholic Virtues refers to the union of two sets of virtues. The four Cardinal virtues, from ancient Greek philosophy, are Prudence, Justice, Temperance, and Courage. The three Theological virtues, from the letters of St. Paul of Tarsus, are Faith, Hope, and Charity. These were adopted by the Church Fathers as the Seven Virtues.
