scaphocephaly
Scaphocephaly is a long, narrow head shape condition that is typically present at birth. This occurs when the sagittal suture, a fibrous joint that runs along the top of the skull, closes prematurely (a condition known as craniosynostosis) which restricts the width growth of the skull and causes it to compensate by growing more in its length.
