proconvertin
Proconvertin, also known as coagulation factor VII, is a protein produced in the liver that is involved in the process of blood coagulation. It is converted into its active form, convertin, by the action of either tissue thromboplastin (Factor III) or Factor Xa. Mutations in the gene that encodes for proconvertin can result in deficiencies leading to bleeding disorders.
