    Mossa is a comune in the Province of Gorizia in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 40 km northwest of Trieste and about 5 km west of Gorizia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,689 and an area of 6.1 km². The municipality of Mossa contains the frazioni Villa Blanchis and Valisella. The name is derived from the old German "Moos Au". See the website of the Comune: Mossa borders the following municipalities: Capriva del Friuli, Farra d'Isonzo, Gorizia, San Floriano del Collio, San Lorenzo Isontino.
