Mohna (मोहना ) is a village located on the bank of Kamala River. It is one of the most literate regions of Jhanjharpur at 89% literacy. Mohna is a village of Simra panchayat. It is surrounded with three main village of Simra panchayat (Majhaura, Simra, Maheshpura) as well as Kanhauli. Famous festival of this village is Durga puja and Ram navami. NH 57 is the main road which connects Mohna from Darbhanga and Patna of Bihar and silliguri of West Bengal. ● Nageshwar Jha, was a great pandit(Hindu priest).He was born in pandit family(jha family)in1890 in Mohna village.pandit Nageshwar Jha was such a big devotee of lord shiva that he spend his 2/3rd of his day time in worshipping of lord shiva.he was always carried a group of snakes in his neck just like a jewelry.
