  1. malignant neuroma

A malignant neuroma, also known as a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST), is a type of cancer that grows in the protective lining of peripheral nerves throughout the body. These nerves control sensation and muscle function. These tumors are often aggressive and can spread to other parts of the body, making them difficult to treat and potentially life-threatening. They are often associated with a genetic condition called neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), although they can occur in individuals without this condition.
